IMPORTANT NOTE:
SRTP Encryption requires an SRTP capable handset or device. Turning this on when a non-SRTP capable device is connected will prevent the device from being able to make or receive any calls. If you intend to use SRTP we recommend testing on a handset and Device account that is not in production use prior to implementation.
SRTP encryption enables you to encrypt the audio data travelling across the network from your handset or device. This protects the audio data as it traverses the network between your handset and the VoIP network.

Currently only limited configuration support is available for SRTP from our helpdesk. The majority of handsets and devices available on the market do not support SRTP, or do not have a complete or compatible implementation. In short, your mileage may vary! We do plan to formalise SRTP support in future, but a date has not been set at time of writing.
Network-level security can be provided by utilising a private IP connection. When using a Private IP (PIP) connection all network traffic for your phone calls travels across our secure layer-2 national network. This greatly reduces any potential exposure to data interception or tampering. Please contact our sales team for more information about Private IP connection options.
The TLS SIP Protocol Transport can provide additional security by encrypting the SIP signalling packets. Note that SRTP and SIP TLS are different technologies that secure different parts of the communication channel.
